Decision Matrix Considerations at NASA

Decision Matrix Considerations at NASA

Determining components for Rovers, Spacecraft, Lunar Colonies and ISS is no easy matter in the race for Space. Additionally it is difficult to trust ones life to the components all built by the lowest bidder when it is know that such technologies, prototypes and one offs will mean life or death for real people; that is to say astronauts, research scientists or even wealthy space travelers whose funds are necessary for the advancement of the human race. Luckily there are many brilliant individuals working on Artificial Intelligent scripts and programs to help with the decision matrix to evaluate our best options for safety, efficiency and utility. Some of these programs are written in;

One individual who stands out as an up and coming scientist in this field is Richard Campanha whose script along with some in house testing on Dr. Christie Iacomini's

part with Paragon were what ultimately helped the script become useful in developing a decision matrix script for evaluating processes of manufacturing components to do a certain task on the Lunar Base Station. By developing a simple script capable of comparing over 5 different types of autonomous fuel / life support producing factories, that were previously unable to be compared. This method was generalized and allowed for any future ISRU plants to be compared and contrasted.

By determining the best system the United States can realize its dreams of a Moon and Martian Colony. By putting a self-generating and rocket fuel factory on Moon in a Lunar Colony we can advance mankind's exploration of the Solar System and have a re-fueling station. This will allow us a way to move more out equipment, weight, supplies and people out of our atmosphere without the fuel expenditures needed to carry more fuel for the actual journey.

For mankind and the United States of America to realize our dreams and successfully complete our Roadmap to the Moon, Mars and Beyond it will take the best and brightest amongst us and the inner strength of us all. Thankfully we have the brilliant minds we will need to make this dream a reality. Think on it.

The Different Types Of Heart Doctors

There is more than one type of doctor in the world, and when people are sick, they generally have to begin by going to their family care doctor. From their general practitioner, people are then referred to various kinds of other doctors depending on what is wrong with them. For people who have problems with their heart, or may be predisposed through their family history to develop heart issues, then cardiologists are the doctors that they have to go see. However, there is more than one type of heart doctor depending on what the exact problem with the heart is.

For a part of the body that is as important as the heart, there are many different types of heart doctors that can deal with problems concerning the muscle itself, the rhythm of the heart, and the circulatory system that it is involved with. However, for people who are unfamiliar with the different kinds of heart doctors, here is information on who they are and what they do:

• General cardiologist: The first stop for someone who may have a heart issue is a general cardiologist. This is a basic heart doctor that will do things like monitor the overall health of the heart, and treat some problems, but for particular problems, this heart doctor will refer their patient to the next level of cardiologist, which is an interventional cardiologist.

• Interventional cardiologist: While a cardiologist can do some basic surgical procedures involving the heart, an interventional cardiologist treats more specific heart problems, and those problems are coronary artery disease, diseases of the heart valves, and peripheral vascular disease. The most common procedure that these cardiologists do is the angioplasty, which is when a balloon is inserted into an artery in order to help the blood flow to the heart.

• Electro physiologist: This type of heart doctor has a very specific area of the heart, and that is the way that the heart beats. In order to circulate blood through the body properly, the heart has to beat in a special way. There are tests that the electro physiologist has to run to determine what is going on, and if a procedure needs to be done, this doctor can do it.

• Pediatric cardiologist: Pediatric doctors help children who may have been born with some kind of heart abnormality. To make sure the heart is functioning properly in a child, a pediatric doctor will do some in-office testing, and make sure everything is working fine as that child grows into an adult.

A regular cardiologist can do the general health check of the heart, but if someone needs a heart procedure, there are other cardiologists that specialize in operating on the heart to do things like clear out the arteries and repair the valves. There are also many different kinds of heart doctors that can do things like monitoring the heart to make sure it's healthy, and also treating various conditions.

How to Make a Yeast Free Taco For the Candida Diet

No matter what type of diet you are trying to follow most diets require you to give up or severely limit the foods that you love the most. The candida diet is no exception. The candida diet is the cornerstone of treatment for a condition known as candidiasis. Candidiasis is an overgrowth of typically benign yeast, candida albicans, in the digestive tract. This condition often occurs due to a variety of external factors but the main causes tend to be overuse of antibiotics, birth control, steroids and diets high in sugary and processed foods. These external factors cause an imbalance in the digestive system and the candida diet helps to restore this balance. The candida diet eliminates sugar and yeast laden foods, glutinous grains, fruit, cheese and processed foods that are thought to exacerbate candidiasis. There are many other foods that are also omitted on the diet. So is it possible to still enjoy your favorite foods when there are so many limitations on this diet? With a little creativity you certainly can.

Tacos are one of my favorite foods that traditionally made do not work for the candida diet. From the taco shell to the shredded cheese topping many traditional taco ingredients are just plain offensive to the candida diet. So how do we make a tasty taco that is yeast free and hence okay for this diet?

The first step is to make or find yeast free gluten free taco seasoning. There are many taco seasoning packets in the store but the majority of them have ingredients that are not allowed on the diet, such as monosodium glutamate (MSG), yeast extract, citric acid and sugar. If you do want to use a store bought taco seasoning packet read the label carefully. You may be able to find a yeast free variety at your local health food store or Whole Foods. I have found it much easier to create my own taco seasoning mix using yeast free spices from my pantry. A blend of chili powder, cayenne pepper, sea salt, black pepper, onion powder does the job just as well as any store bought variety.

The second step is to make or find gluten free yeast free tortillas. There are a variety of gluten free tortillas on the market. These are usually available at your local health food store, Whole Foods or Trader Joe's. The most common type that is both yeast free and gluten free are the brown rice tortillas. However, in my experience these do not seem to work so well for tacos, as the crumble very easily under the weight of the taco filling. There are other gluten free options but these usually contain yeast or some other ingredient off limit to candida dieters. I have found it easiest and tastiest to make my own. There are some great recipes online for gluten free tortillas. Do a search and make sure to substitute yeast free ingredients for any problematic ones.

The third step would be to prepare yeast free gluten free taco fixings. This is the easiest and most fun part. Once you have seasoned meat and a taco shell you get to pile on the toppings. Although things like cheese and sour cream are off limits you can still compile a great taco. Some of my favorite yeast free taco fixings are tomatoes, avocado, lettuce, homemade salsa, plain unsweetened yogurt and organic canned beans.

Some medicines may cause problems if you take them with other medicines. This is why it is important to tell your doctor and pharmacist about all the medicines you are taking. Let's say those aspects are Health-Family-Business-Finance-Social-Intellectual-spiritual. Doo-doo-doodloodl-doo-doo-doo-dooo – you have to find time for all of those to lead a balanced life.

Spiritual aspects could be as simple as having a purpose to your day or you could even find a higher purpose. Intellectual aspects include learning and personal growth. And without your health and fitness you are sick or dead !!! That is a lot of balls to juggle – maybe they need to be prioritized?

Which one of these aspects – do you think – can have the most impact on all of the others?!? If your philosophy or religion turns out to be misguided can you choose another? If you don't learn for a year can you learn next year? If you lose all of your money – can you earn some more? If you lose your job or business can you get another? If you lose your HEALTH AND FITNESS can you get another body?!?! NO! AND YES! WE'VE FOUND IT!

The one aspect that has a direct and positive effect on all of the other aspects and the one aspect of your life that you cannot replace if you lose it is YOUR HEALTH AND FITNESS !!!!!! If we lose our health and fitness we become sick, impaired or dead. If we are lucky and ACT before it goes too far we can get it back – BUT WE HAVE TO MAKE IT A PRIORITY! Why not make it a priority before it becomes one !?

Considering the implications of dropping the health and fitness ball I'd make sure that my juggling routine makes health and fitness the first and foremost thing that I focus on and care for. Without you have no life!

Managing Payroll for Small Business

Payroll may be too cumbersome for businesses to do by themselves, not just because of the number of employees but because it is a process that starts with hiring and does not end until the business dissolves. Also, this is something that needs to be done regularly – mostly monthly although yearly tasks also remain. This includes big as well as small and medium businesses. For large-scale ones, the problem may include tracking the employees as well as filling forms and complying with tax provisions. Small organizations may, on the other hand, find it expensive and therefore budget draining to manage by themselves as well as their inability to employ professional hire. It is no surprise when studies find that payroll, along with tax make up the top options that are outsourced.

With all the accounting for the employees, with all the forms – like Employment Eligibility Verification, Employer's Quarterly Federal Tax Return, Additional Medicare Tax, Distributions From Pensions, Annuities, Retirement or Profit-Sharing Plans, IRA, Insurance Contracts – to be filled, With all the deductions to be made and submitted to the government authority, businesses may find that this process is consuming their time and resource. The course to ease this can be found by choosing among one of the two alternatives: outsource it or make use of applications. It is up to the discretion of the management on the choice to be made.

If outsourced, the business can rest assured regarding the accuracy of data. There is assurance that forms will be filled in time, errors relating to this issue will not arise. This is so because the outsourcing company employs professionals who make sure everything is up to the task. The economy of scale is something that cannot be achieved by most of the organizations. Like the other option, this also means the business does not have to bother about anything related to payroll. The difference being this option means the business may have a sense of loss of authority when opting for this method.

But with the help of payroll software, one can do the task by oneself. The software may come as standalone whereby they specialize in this function only. Or, this function may come bundled together in accounting applications. This method has the advantage of being easy to use, and even with someone not an expert in this topic, this can be managed adequately. Only a basic knowledge about us of the application does the job.

With times, the applications have come with the option whereby businesses can manage their payroll from anywhere, cloud computing facilitating the process which means that the business can access and modify data from anywhere. In addition to giving the management (or other personnel as the need be) the control of data given by apps, what is also possible is the advantage of the simplicity that apps bring forth. Recently, users seem to switch to this latter mode for managing payroll.

The Smart Woman's Guide to Planning for Retirement by Mary Hunt – Personal Finance Book Review

Money maven, Mary Hunt, returns with a new book, "The Smart Woman's Guide to Planning for Retirement," to help women prosper financially in the New Year and beyond. While geared toward females, men can also benefit from Hunt's money knowledge, honed after she amassed over $ 100,000 in debt earlier in life; and took 13 years to erase.

"Have you had a retirement wake-up call?" Hunt asks early in the book. "I can promise you they intensify with age."

Hunt sites a 2012 survey that found that 92 percent of women of all ages do not feel educated enough to reach their retirement savings goals.

Saving for retirement requires determination and hard work; and Hunt believes women can succeed. "If we lack confidence, it's because we lack knowledge and desire, certainly not because we lack intelligence and ability," Hunt says.

Time trumps all factors when saving for retirement. The sooner you start, the better. But, Hunt emphasizes, regardless of what stage you are in life, you must begin now. "It's only too late if you don't start now. No matter where you are or how little you think you have, start now. Today. Start. Saving." Take baby steps to produce long-term results.

Hunt's teachings feature:

Retirement Savings Plan . Hunt promotes a six-step Retirement Savings Plan, which includes:

Build an emergency fund. Also known as a Contingency Fund. Save money for life's unexpected expenses (car repairs, home repairs, etc.) This money needs to be liquid (easily accessible within two or three days), safe from erosion (build in a risk-free savings account) and able to fund at least six months of living expenses should a job loss or other compromised income event occur.

Get out of debt. Eliminate all unsecured debt (credit card debt, student loans, personal loans). Hunt says they're like cancer stealing your future. Incorporate Hunt's Rapid Debt-Repayment Plan (RDRP) to abolish the debt.

Own your home outright . Buy half as much house as your mortgage approval. Make monthly mortgage payments equal to the full approval amount to own your residence in half the time. Fiercely protect your home equity (the difference between your home's market value and mortgage balance). Avoid taking a home equity loan or line of credit, which resets the clock on a thirty-year mortgage.

Consider hiring a financial planner once debt is eradicated or managed, a respectable amount in savings is amassed, retirement funds are growing, or an IRA inheritance or other cash windfall appears.

Hunt describes three types of financial planners:

  1. Commission-based. This planner does not charge based on time, but by selling investment products. He or she earns commissions on those sales.
  2. Fee-based. This planner works on a fixed fee or charges by the hour. Fees are stated up front and the planner is a registered investment advisor (RIA). They're required by law to meet fiduciary standards, making them responsible for putting the best interests of their clients first.
  3. Combo. This planner is a combination of the first two. Clients pay a fee, fixed or hourly and the planner earns commissions when the client buys financial products based on their recommendations.

Choose a financial planner with at least five years experience Hunt suggests. Ensure they act in your best interests, and can explain financial concepts on your level. Be wary of any planner who claims to be able to beat the market. Ultimately, collaborate with a planner; yet make your own investment decisions. Hunt underscores that, "An advisor's or planner's primary loyalty will be to the hand that feeds her. That is simply human nature."

Hunt educates in a conversational tone, avoiding jargon, charts and mind-numbing data, which makes for an engaging read. A Christian, she teaches faith-based money management. Hunt believes that God is the source of all life's blessings, including money. An employer, spouse, investments, trust account, parents or any other entity are the channels through which money flows, but not the ultimate source. She's making reasonable preparations for retirement without obsession; and trusting God for the outcome.

While having a retirement nest egg is important, Hunt reminds readers there is more to life than money. Health, spirituality, nurturing relationships, staying active, continual learning and volunteering are some attributes of a well-balanced existence.

Decade-by-decade financial planning, the five necessary tools for a money management system, investment basics (automate all payments to avoid not making monthly contributions (out-of-sight, out-of-mind), reverse mortgages, and parents paying for their children's college education (not required), are other money-saving / building topics addressed in the book.

Anyone committed to improving their financial fitness in 2014, will reap life treasures, beyond the bounds of cash, by inheriting Mary Hunt's money practices.

To establish your baseline financial status, and / or monitor your progress, order your free credit reports from the three big credit companies: Equifax, Experian, TransUnion, visit: Annual Credit Report .

What Is the Most Powerful and Valuable Force in the Universe?

"I would say that anyone who acts without paying attention to what he is doing is wasting his life. I'd go as far as to say that life is denied by lack of attention, whether it is to cleaning windows or trying to write a masterpiece. " Nadia Boulanger *

Have you ever heard "Besame mucho"? Of course you've heard it: it's one of the most famous songs in the world and, apparently, the most recorded of all time. And of course you know the refrain words: "Besame, besame mucho, como si fuera esta noche la ultima vez …" and consequently the feeling of sensuality and passion that they suggest: indeed, how would you make love with someone you like , if you know that it might be the last time?

An interesting aspect of this song – which in turn is less known – is that both text and music were written in 1940 by Consuelo Velasquez, a Mexican girl not even 16 years old at the time and who – according to her statements – had not even kissed another man … Just to say how powerful art and imagination can be …

By the way, I think it's worth discussing a bit about this. Yes, we all agree that when we know that a certain experience – for whatever reason – is rare, limited or unique, it suddenly turns into something precious that deserves all our attention and that we try to enjoy to the most possible intensity.

And this happens even if it's about something apparently very trivial: if, due to a car accident you found yourself stuck down in plaster, how much do you miss those beautiful times when you could go out for a walk? And if, after being locked at home for months and a difficult rehabilitation period, you become able again to take a little walk in the neighborhood, wouldn't it fantastic to feel to be back on your feet? How much would you enjoy the experience? How wonderful it would you city seem? With how much pleasure would you look at any detail?

All this is of course due to a simple psychological principle by which our minds tend not to give too much value to what we have at hand, to treat it actually as a kind of "right" and to give more value to what we don ' t have. So, we often need a loss – or the awareness of the possibility of a loss – to understand how precious anything that we consider "normal" is.

In fact, in our opulent society, we live a true paradox: we have increasingly more goods and experiences but because we consider them ordinary and normal, they do not offer us any joy.

Only two of many possible examples:

– When I was a kid, strawberries and cherries were eaten in May, grapes in September, oranges in December, and so on, and every time Dad brought fresh fruit at home, it was a source of happiness for the whole family. I still remember with how much impatience I waited for May to come, just to get the first bite of strawberry. Now I can go to the supermarket and I can have any fruit at any time of the year. Yeah, very comfortable, but … where is the happiness?

– Today, everywhere we go we are surrounded by music: in theaters, discos and bars obviously, but also in shops, in subway, in the street, at home … there is always a radio, a TV, a stereo .. . and if there is not, we have iPod and headphones. It's about impossible for us to conceive a world without music. And yet … not more than one hundred years ago, so it was. The world was silent. Can you imagine this? If you wanted to listen to music, you had to find someone who played it. If you lived in a little village you could stay months or years without listening to any song, except for some folk songs or religious music on Sunday at the church. Can you imagine what fantastic effect it would have on someone the simple fact to listen to a symphony or an opera? What unbelievable and unique experience, more over that you knew that every thing that you hear would be lost forever, because it couldn't be fixed and it would still exist only in your memory? With how much attention and focus would you listen to every note? (I can think of, as a matter of fact, that Wagner received the score of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony when he was 20 years and finally managed to listen it only when he was 40 …)

What is interesting in all this discussion is that what is changing is not the experience itself (no matter if we're talking about sex, music, food, etc.), but only our perception; then it means that to live a fantastic experience, filled with joy and passion, there is no need for a specific experience, but only a simple shift in our perception: that is, to give our full attention to the present moment!

I know we live in a society where we have everything, the phone is always ringing, hundreds of thousands of daily chores more or less important struggle to attract our attention, advertising is screaming "Watch me" and our minds are always busy with "something other ", we feel that happiness is always" somewhere else ", with the result to be constantly in a state of apathy and boredom.

The mobile phone is a perfect example to illustrate this constant distraction of attention, to cherish more a possible "other" than the present situation: how many time did it happen to you to go out with friends, and then in the group there was always someone talking on a cell phone with "someone other"?

Someone wrote that heaven is here and now and if we don't have this impression, this is because we are never really here and now, and only when circumstances require us we can realize how precious every thing is, every moment we live and that we neglect by our lack of attention.

I have written elsewhere that when we focus our attention on something we give it power, and when we offer our attention to someone we raise his energy levels (actually any magic ritual is just a way to focus attention) and then, as attention is what raises and directs energy, it's the great power in the universe, on what our perceived reality depends at last.

So, next time you make love, eat something, play with your child, talk to someone, look at something, walk in the wood or simply … "stay", why not try to participate "como si fuera esta noche la ultima vez "?

If we can do this, it means that we made another step – large, this time – to understand magic.

A greeting

Note: Nadia Boulanger, though little known to the general public is undoubtedly one of the most extraordinary women of the last century. For those who want to know more:

Cheap Liability Auto Insurance Info: What Should You Do to Find Affordable Car Insurance Coverage?

Getting just the minimum amount of auto insurance in your state can be risky, since it's usually not enough to cover everything. It might help you pay for damages to the other person's vehicle or property, as well as their medical expenses, but what about your own car and medical expenses? The idea is to try and get the most coverage possible with cheap liability auto insurance.

Carefully read over all of the different types of coverage and decide which ones will be right for you. Search for quotes online and read reviews on each company to learn more about them. Just as you'd never buy the car itself without first shopping around, you should do the same with insurance. How do you get quotes? You enter details about your age, location, car, etc. and hit "submit" or "search". The details that you have to enter vary depending on the website you use for searching for quotes.

You don't want your cheap liability auto insurance to be too cheap. Look for value, not the lowest monthly rate. Also, there are deductibles to consider. If you really aren't confident that you'll be able to pay money out of your pocket in the event that you are involved in a collision with a lot of damage, then consider paying more on the premium. Try cutting a few other expenses here and there to help you make the payments.

Cheap Liability Auto Insurance Coupons and Discounts

The good news is that there are always ways to save money, as auto insurance companies often offer coupons and discounts to help both new customers and loyal customers. For instance, you might be able to get a discount off your first-term premium by signing up and buying car insurance with a particular company. There are also "pay-in full" discounts that will give you a percentage off the premium if you pay it upfront instead of monthly.

There are several other categories of potential discounts as well, such as being a good, safe driver with a clean driving history and having safety features installed. A few examples include "Anti-Theft Discount", "Antilock Brakes Discount", "Defensive Driver Discount", etc. Even though younger people are usually expected to pay more money for auto insurance, there are still "Good Student Discounts" offered by most insurers.

In summary, you'll want to learn about the minimum car insurance requirements in your state and then fill out a form to search for quotes. Compare them and look over all of the discounts. The best place to start your search for cheap liability auto insurance is esurance.

5 Reasons Doctors Love Dr House

Most doctors I know get a kick out of the television show, "House." Though we're all aghast at his bedside manner and cavalier attitude, still there is a certain attraction. Those not in the medical field may wonder how physicians can enjoy watching such a callous fellow.

Here are the five top reasons doctors love Dr. House.

1. Dr. Gregory House says things doctors would like to say themselves, but don't have the nerve. Most doctors filter what comes out of their mouths. They may think curse words, but seldom say them. We rarely accuse our patients of lying, even when we suspect it. We may think our patients have behaved foolishly, but we keep our thoughts to ourselves. It comes as a catharsis to finally hear a doctor (albeit an imaginary one) say things that cross every doctor's mind.

2. Dr. House does do any paperwork. Doctors hate paperwork. It's not only beyond boring, but sometimes perceived as interfering with patient care. The benefits are usually invisible, uncompensated, and extend the workday (needlessly, he would add).

3. Dr. House walks away from boring cases. Few doctors have this privilege. Physicians take patients as they come, without guarantee of intellectual stimulation. For family physicians, this means seeing high blood pressure patients, day after day after. For dermatologists, it's acne, psoriasis, and eczema, and for cardiologists it's heart attack, heart attack, heart attack. Even poor Dr. Wilson sees cancer, cancer, cancer.

4. Dr. House does not worry about getting paid. He's apparently on a salary, and gets paid the same no matter how few patients he sees or clinic hours he skips. Other doctors get paid by the patient or by the hour and are expected to produce. Most of us would be happy to have an afternoon to spend watching TV or surfing the web, while others are busy doing our work for us.

5. Dr. House does not worry about what anything costs. For a doctor it's a burden to not only worry that the right tests are ordered, but that they'll be paid for, either by insurance, the patient, or the government. House simply does care. He orders every test in the book. In real life it's not the hospital administrators who are looking over our shoulders to see what tests we've ordered – it's the insurance companies that require pre-authorization and proof that less expensive therapies have already been tried. Being an advocate for our patients, and taking the extra time to make sure appropriate testing is obtained, generally amounts to more uncompensated paperwork. Bullying your way through simply does not work for real doctors.

Aside from his diagnostic skills, Dr. House is the antithesis of a good physician. But still he's funny, and now and then I learn a thing or two. Once or twice a season I solve the case before the esteemed Dr. House – which keeps me coming back for more. The cases are true, by the way, all oddballs that the average doctor might see once in a lifetime. In medical school we're taught that when you hear hoofbeats, you should think horses, not zebras. But in Dr. House's case, he's got a stableful of zebras.
